New Spine Surgeon to Join OCCV

Our new orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Jocelyn Idema, is fellowship trained in minimally invasive spine surgery. Dr. Idema specializes in the surgical and non-surgical treatments of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine which include: sports-related back and neck injuries, cervical and lumbar stenosis, degenerative disc disease of the neck and back, herniated discs, degenerative scoliosis, and spondylolisthesis. With her expertise, we are better able to meet our community’s growing demand for minimally invasive spine surgery.

Dr. Idema completed her medical school training at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating cum laude. She received special training in microsurgery, minimally invasive techniques and motion preservation of the spine during her Fellowship at the Spine Institute of Arizona in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Dr. Idema joins our practice November 3, 2011 and is now accepting appointments for new patients. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Idema, her husband, and their two children to the Lynchburg community!
