Our very own Dr. Diminick will be part of a show on “Kids, Sports, and Concussions.”

Concussions, a type of traumatic brain injury, have been a notorious issue in sports. Over 1.6 million
Americans have sustained concussion-related injuries, a number that has since then grew in high school
and college athletes. As of 2012, the four major sports leagues in the United States and Canada now
have concussion policies. But what’s being done to protect our young athletes?

On Thursday, July 26 from 6-8 PM, with an encore presentation on Saturday, July 28, Rich Roth will talk
with Dr. Michael Diminick, Orthopaedic Surgeon and Team Physician for Liberty University as well as
many other notable figures in sports and sports medicine:

Dr. Robert Cantu - Co-Director Center for the Study of Traumatic Encephalopathy, Boston University
School of Medicine and Senior Advisor to the NFL Head Neck and Spine Committee.

Chris Nowinski - Former WWE star who co-founded the Sports Legacy Institute and wrote the best
selling book "Head Games".
Dr. Bill Meehan - Director of Sports Concussion Clinic, Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical
School and author of "Kids Sports, and Concussion: A Guide for Coaches and Parents.

Stefan Duma - Head of VT/WFU School of Biomedical Engineering and Sciences - Heads up the Helmet
Studies done at Virginia Tech which are recognized world wide
