Our on call physician responds to emergency and urgent care situations during normal office hours. If you have an emergency during office hours every effort will be made for you to be seen that day. Your patience is greatly appreciated as you will be “worked-in” and may have to wait to be seen by one of our physicians. If you have an emergency situation when our office is closed, please have our answering service contact the physician on-call, or go to the emergency room for immediate treatment.
In an effort to keep your medical costs down, we request that you make payment at the time that services are rendered, unless you have made other arrangements with our business office. Since orthopaedics is considered a specialty practice, your insurance company may require that you obtain a referral from your primary care provider prior to being seen by us. As the insured, this is your responsibility and we recommend that you contact your insurer to determine whether or not you need a referral to be seen by us prior to scheduling an appointment with one of our physicians.
Due to the likelihood of having an x-ray during your visit, we ask that you consider the following:
Our office participates with Medicare, Medicaid, Aetna, Anthem, Cigna, Optima PPO, Piedmont Community Health Plan, Southern Health, and United Healthcare. You are expected to pay your co-payment on participating plans at the time of service. Please bring your health insurance information with you to your first appointment with us. If you have any questions about insurance or billing procedures, please contact our business office at (434) 485-8500.
For your health and safety, prescriptions, refills and renewal authorizations must be requested during normal office hours. Please contact our nursing staff during normal office hours for questions regarding your prescription. Please allow 48 hours for your refill request to be processed.
Please call our office with any questions or concerns regarding your treatment or condition. Our nursing staff is highly trained and qualified to answer many of your concerns. Should you have a concern that requires that the physician speak with you, our nursing staff will take your message and have the physician return your call at the earliest opportunity.
