The position of a Physician Assistant is to assist the surgeons with surgical cases and fulfill the need as Physician Extenders performing selective medical services under the direction of the Physicians and sports trained primary care doctor. Physician Assistant works in a support role for musculoskeletal care both during normal office hours and after hours and weekends (for additional compensation) on an equitable rotating schedule with other PAs (one in eight).
Our eighteen physicians (thirteen orthopaedists, two rheumatologists, two physiatrists, and one sports-trained family physician) practice in Lynchburg which is located in Central Virginia in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Easy access to the Appalachian Trail, James River, Smith Mountain Lake and +/- 3 hrs to Washington, DC or Virginia Beach.
Our team enjoys the support of seven PA’s, one Nurse Practicioner and thirteen physical/occupational therapists as well as a host of competent administrative and clinical personnel. We provide care for an immediate drawing area of approximately 250,000. Electronic medical records and digital imaging systems assist us in providing the best in patient care. We are in a new facility which houses a MRI, injection suite and expanded therapy services.
Minimum education requirement: Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies

Candidate would have general orthopaedic call responsibilities in a level two trauma center (1 in 13).
